The Amtryke project is an important part of what our organization offers. We donate these free to families that need them or therapists recommend them for an individual. Each Amtryke is designed to give physically challenged children their first set of wheels and is one of several innovative Ambucs programs at the national level. This unique tricycle, which is driven by hand, feet or both, improves motor coordination, cardiovascular conditioning, increases self-esteem, and best of all - It's fun to ride!

Amtrykes are designed to accommodate riders of all ages and a myriad of physical and/or developmental challenges. Both Physical and Occupational Therapists acknowledge the Amtryke’s many therapeutic benefits, citing improved motor skills, strength development and self-esteem. Learn more about the history of the Amtryke and our most updated inventory!

Physical Therapists and Occupational Therapists provide treatment, education, and advocacy for the disabled community. Through working with Amtryke, therapists can become allies in the movement to make accessibility the new “normal”. National Ambucs has fostered a very special relationship with therapists throughout its near century of existence. Our organization and its members impact exponentially more people because of their expertise and dedication.
